My Vows to You, My Love

    A Love like ours
    No one can tame
    Like the eternal stars
    Or burning flame

    A raging passion
    From deep inside
    A thousand torches
    That none could hide

    Earth's raging waters
    Or deepest seas
    Could never drown
    My love for thee

    From the highest mountian
    To the deepest cave
    Your love is my master
    My heart is your slave

    While I am dreaming
    Or lying awake
    My heart is all yours
    For you to take

    When we grow old
    And nothing is new
    My heart will still
    Beat only for you

    And when I close
    My eyes in death
    I will love you still
    With my final breath

    Until you join me
    After death, I swear
    It wont be Heaven
    Without you there

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
