My Surrender
Why am I being ignored?
As I scream at the top of my lungs
In an over-crowded room
Everyone is forced to hear
No one chooses to listen
Open your ears people
Save my voice, its course from self-inflicted Laryngitis
Hope still springs from my outbursts
Hope for a sudden white flag
A surrender of an ear, all I need is one, two would be great.
My voice remains a siren among the deaf
Ignorance is false temporary bliss
Now I know no earthly surrender will do
Only my Father hears my quietest yell,
And ignores not even my loudest whisper
I am now all ears no longer choosing to ignore
Even the most annoying sound he puts my way,
The sound of a babies helpless cry use to make me cringe,
Now that chill serves a reminder that I’m not the only one.
As I scream at the top of my lungs
In an over-crowded room
Everyone is forced to hear
No one chooses to listen
Open your ears people
Save my voice, its course from self-inflicted Laryngitis
Hope still springs from my outbursts
Hope for a sudden white flag
A surrender of an ear, all I need is one, two would be great.
My voice remains a siren among the deaf
Ignorance is false temporary bliss
Now I know no earthly surrender will do
Only my Father hears my quietest yell,
And ignores not even my loudest whisper
I am now all ears no longer choosing to ignore
Even the most annoying sound he puts my way,
The sound of a babies helpless cry use to make me cringe,
Now that chill serves a reminder that I’m not the only one.
