    Poem Commentary

i wrote this poem after i found my darling best friends. it's dedicated to them.

    My Real Friend

    I've found a great treasure,
    one beyond all measure.
    with whom i can share,
    and still think it's fair.

    I've found a real gem,
    who's never a germ.
    with whom i am free,
    who understands me.

    I've found a real jewel,
    with whom there's no farewell.
    one whom i can trust,
and trusts me at all cost.

    I've found a real friend,
    whose help i can't lend.
    since my friend's wise,
    and extremely nice.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
