My Heart

My Heart

The sound is blocked by

the many walls I put up.

Only God could come through,

and only a few can unlock,

but only one can break

my locks of hatred and fear

My heart is as black as can be

you'll need the sun to see

all the truths and prayers of

all my hopes and dreams

like a crystal that surrounds my heart

It is colder then a negative 190 degrees

Hidden in the back of my heart

I am calling for a love

as great as gods

Yet the answer can't come through

even though I do love you

and that is the truth about my heart

Boy can I relate to this one! I am right where this poem lies right now and am not sure how to get past it! I depend on GOD to hold me up because at this point I can barely do it myself! Thanks for the read as it is very expressive and holds so much truth. I love your work! Hugs and God Bless, Helen

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
