My Angel From Heaven

My Angel From Heaven

From the earliest breath that my lungs did take in

the arms of my mother gave love from within

caring and loving she took care of me

from infant to a woman and then set me free

Her kindness, life lessons, and sometimes her fight

was all to help make my future life bright

From cooking, to manners, and oh so much more

She’s a mother that anyone would surely adore

Devoted and saintly in her own special ways

Blessings remembered ‘til my end of days.

Understanding and patience in her soul lies,

Sacrifices she made still brings tears to my eyes.

She’s my doctor, my lawyer, my psychiatrist too,

She always comes up with advice that is new.

From cooking to cleaning there is never a doubt

MOM will know how to get that stain out!

Now that I’m a mom, myself you see,

I remember the way mother talked to me.

Little dresses, hairstyles, and Patten leather shoes,

I now know that my mom has paid her dues.

Capricious were her four children for sure,

Leaving their toys and things on the floor

Making messes and noise are a child’s unspoken vow,

But mom would just yell, “Cut it out, right now!”

Sweetness of perfume and an angel’s eyes

She taught all her children so they could be wise

With cuddles and kisses, her love is divine

I’m so Glad that God has made my mother, mine!

Nobody like Mama. Mine was wonderful too. This is an amazing tribute to an obviously wonderful mother who deservs this.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
