Motherhood
You become a Mother
With the help of your lover
The first time you hold your bundle of joy
You realize this is no longer a toy
No book of guidance
Mother instinct is your reliance.
The years fly by
Some days are low some days are high
Teenage years come so fast
How quick the time has passed
When they start to go out, you pray to God to keep them safe
Please let them return to this place
When they knock on the door, you give a sigh of relief
So glad it's not the police.
You start to look old and grey
Is this the price you pay
They grow into a woman or a man
And you'v done the best you can.
Time comes for them to fly the nest
It's up to them now to do the rest
You wish them joy and good lives
Find good husands or good wives
Do you think this is the end?
No, my friend.
Motherhood never ends.
