    Morning once again

I sit here watching out the window in the early morning,
and am amazed at the beauty of the sunrise.
The sky goes from black to lovely shades of pink and lavender.
I watch as the colors float together,
over and under, in and out,
slowly getting brighter and more beautiful.
There, the sun pops it head up over the horizon,
a bright and beautiful golden orange.
Then I see the birds start to fly,
    basking in the morning glow.
I open my window and hear the beauty of the morning,
the birds are singing songs joy and contentment,
the squirrels scampering about in search of food,
the crickets with their little clicks,
the rooster crows, it is time to wake and start the day.
What beautiful sites and sounds, it is morning once again.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
