    Mister Know-it-all

    You provide what I need
But I live this life in greed
And you think that you succeed
    And I can’t stand it

    You cause such a fuss
    Believing you would be enough
    But I call your bluff
    And underhand it

And I feel like such a whore
    Kissing you became a bore
    Almost like a chore
    I must withstand it

But I’m afraid to leave behind
One who has been so kind
So I almost want to rewind
But I stubbornly have banned it

So I live this life in limbo
    Acting like a bimbo
    I love him…don’t think so
But he may soon demand it

    However life is pretty strange
    Because hearts turn and change
    Without rhyme or range
    Desire should command it

But I do this quite too often
And never try to stop them
    Aside from words of caution
    I should brand it

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
