    Merry Christmas Baby

    During this time of laughter and cheer,
    I wish you could be somewhere near.
    We'd be having an absolute ball;
    As you spread your infectious joy to all.

    I'm sure there I would sit mesmerized;
    As the lights from the tree sparkled through your eyes.
    We'd laugh and toast the old and new.
    And I would give thanks for the lover I have in you.

    Just know that you never stray from my mind.
    Our bond is locked in a moment of time.
    I know your season will be as beautiful as you are.
    Merry Christmas from the one who loves you from afar.

    This is really good, a pleasure to read. A very fine element of committment to the person so obviously loved.

    Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
