    MEMORIES

    A fleeting moment
    A memory arises.

    What has awaken
    These thoughts deep inside?

    Something my heart
    Cannot forget

Nor the tears wash a way
    This deep buried pain
    And unrest.

    My arms clutch the
    Empty air with
    Spirits unrevealed

    Yet my heart cannot forget
    Those memories that
    Will not heal.

    A feeling once so beautiful
    It can never be erased.

    Now the pain will be
    A part of me and
    Never be at rest.

Until I touch you once again
    I will never forget

All the love I have for you
    Buried deep within my chest.

I am touched by the sentiment invoked in this poem. I love the way it was written. So simple and yet so powerful. This is great.

Thank you for your kind critique.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
