memories
She stared hopelessly into his eyes .
She began weeping, and as the tears rolled down her rosy cheeks silence was shattered . She began sobbing and crying, a beautiful elegy. She leaned her head against the rough surface of her closet wall, taking a deep breath as the cold temperature of the wall penetrated her sensitive, silk like skin .
Shocking comfort…
She heard the cars driving in the distance tires screeching furiously, motors running tired . She contemplated he image of his mothers car each time she had picked them up . A small white vehicle, fairly new, with no personality . She felt the shiver in her knees as it drove closer, her heart sinking into the darkest, safest place of her being . A lonely tear emerged from her deep brown eyes, a narrow stream forming down her face . Silent, yet screaming with the pain of remembrance .
He opened the door, her heart skipped a beat out of fear and discomfort . The air was thick and foggy with dislike and anger . His mother emitted strong disapproval and disappointment with every breath . He looked deeply into her eyes, embracing the shaken universe that was her heart . He reached over for her hand and felt the cold hesitation .
The sad stream had formed a melancholic river .
She closed her eyes as if grasping for air, but the river drowned her .
His mother struck her with every glance . Her eyes yelling, “SLUT!” She felt asphyxiated, overwhelmed, on the border or breaking down . The car came to a stop and for a moment she was immobile . Feeling small and worthless she got out of the car . The cold wind striking her delicate body .
Shocking comfort…
She sank into deep despair, fading away slowly . He reached over for her lifeless hand and embraced every bit of her shattered soul . The warm, safe embrace of his arms engraved upon her cold body . Time stopped, space disappeared and the soft caress of his body lightened every dark corner of her heart and fueled the slow pump of her tired heart . Eyes closed and breathing slowly, she smiled and gently dosed off to a deep sleep.
Oh how memories can bring one to her knees,
and at the same time lift one into soothing peace .
