Meaningful Silence
So maybe one day you will
See that you were everything
that could ever be for me
and it was never a mistake
to wear your heart on your sleeve
I was never the best person
But I was never the worst.
I tried so hard
Not to break your heart.
I tried so hard to tell you
You’re the one
But the words never did
Come out right
I always stumbled and
Forgot
But I went home one day
Wrote it all down
Rehearsed in the mirror
And memorized everything
It would take to spill my heart
Came back next day
And found out
You were done waiting
For me to say what I planned
To say that day
Now I’m so heartbroken
You thought I didn’t love you
And I’m so done
Because life has no meaning
If you’re going to be gone
So maybe one day you will
See that you were everything
that could ever be for me
and it was never a mistake
to wear your heart on your sleeve
so tell me darling
how are the stars tonight
are they as bright
as when we used to lay
together just to be alone
because for me
the stars don’t seem to shine anymore
don’t be mad for what I do next
because you’re at fault for it
you never mentioned anything
it’s not my fault
I never knew you felt that way
I was scared too
You behaved so selfish.
When I see you on the street
I want to turn away so quickly
Because I don’t want to say
The words I couldn’t say that day
Because your heart
Doesn’t belong to me.
So maybe one day you will
See that you were everything
that could ever be for me
and it was never a mistake
to wear your heart on your sleeve
I never meant to hurt you so bad
But it doesn’t seem to affect you
So what’s the point of my apology
I’m dying here
For not saying a word
And I wish I could turn back time
To yell it out
The first time I felt this great love
All I have left is
A meaningful silence
A meaningless phrase
A meaningful silence
A meaningless phrase
See that you were everything
that could ever be for me
and it was never a mistake
to wear your heart on your sleeve
I was never the best person
But I was never the worst.
I tried so hard
Not to break your heart.
I tried so hard to tell you
