Margins
I could never color
Never stay within the lines
The thickness of the crayon
Edged past where I was coloring.
I like center justified
Not having to meet at the left, or right
Say what you want
No restraints
Never matching
Ambiguity.
Margins hem us in
keep us straight,
marginalize us,
but we're different shapes,
different thoughts
different...
no margins can contain us.
I can't use a ruler,
my lines don't go straight
But I see around what's ahead of me
before it's too late.
If I jut out just a bit
or go just outside the lines
My margin for success grows larger
Allows me to feel right inside.
