    Love?

How can you love when your love is lost?
How you dream of your love, but you wake up to emptiness.
When you're awake you find your mind drifting to that place,
but all you can do is understand it's really gone.
    Sorrow hits,than you are depressed.
Reality sets in and you are all alone.
You put on a smile and do your best to fool the masses,
but all you are doing is putting on a front.
Nobody can know the way you feel,
They could not know the sadness.
    If you opened up yourself,
you would be mocked for your pain.
You will be told it will be alright.
You will be told you will find someone else,
but do they really know what love is?

Love is what we see it is, what we feel it is, how it affects us in every little way that makes us walk, talk, and move through life as though we're there for a purpose more than ourselves... No, they don't know what love is - they'll never know - not the love you see and feel... How could they...??? A very good write...

Really can relate to this one. I remember feeling like this only one time in my life. once bitten twice shy thing i guess. Very cool!

i know the feeling i have had my heart broke many a time i know and feel your pain. maybe, hopefully one day we all can find this so called thing of true love but until then we have our words to comfort us. nice poem!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
