    Long Lost Friend.

HEY! IT'S ME YOUR LONG LOST FRIEND, OR AT LEAST FOR NOW WE CAN PRETEND. I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY JUST ONE LAST TIME TO SEE IF YOU HAD CHANGED YOUR MIND. REMEMBERING BACK TO OUR FIRST DAYS FOREVER SEEMED THE WAY WE'D STAY. TOO LONG FOREVER TURNED OUT TO BE, AND NOW YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN ME. WITH ANY LUCK I'LL DO THE SAME, NOW WE GO OUR SEPARATE WAYS. FORGOT EXACTLY WHY WE'D FIGHT NO MATTER NOW WHOSE WRONG OR RIGHT. I'M SORRY NOW WE DIDN'T SEE JUST HOW EASY IT COULD BE, TO LOSE WHATEVER WAS - YOU AND ME. WHAT IS LOVE, JUST MERELY SAID? A WORD ALONE CAN NOT CONTEND WITH THE LOVE I THOUGHT THAT WE HAD. WORDS ARE LOST DRIFTING IN AND OUT. IT'S FEELING LOVED WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT STAYS FOREVER IN YOUR HEAD. ALL YOUR FEARS PUT TO BED. I WAS STRONGER THAN I HAD EVER BEEN. FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE NEVER SCARED, IN LOVE WITH YOU I WAS INSTEAD. NO MATTER WHAT WE SAID WE NEVER COULD BE IN LOVE AGAIN. THERE IS NO WAY TO HEAL OUR HEARTS. WE HAD TORN OURSELVES APART. THE ONLY WAY WE'LL EVER MEND IS TO MAKE THIS DAY OUR END. SO IF YOU EVER THINK OF ME I HOPE THAT YOUR MEMORIES WOULD BE, NOT OF ME YOUR ENEMY, BUT THAT OF WHAT WE BEGAN TO BE. I FELT AS THOUGH WE COULD BE FRIENDS. NOW WE MAY HAVE TO PRETEND, TO GET US THROUGH THE DAY BY DAY. AT LEAST IT DIDN'T START THAT WAY. WE FELL IN LUST TRICKED YOU SEE, WITH NO REASON FOR US TO LEAVE WE BECAME VICTIMS OF OUR MISERY. NOW NO DUES ARE LEFT TO PAY I CAN GO ON MY MERRY WAY GOOD LUCK AND GOODBYE FROM YOUR LONG LOST FRIEND, THE ONE THAT YOU LET GET AWAY!!!

you really loved that man. well as they say if it is meant to be. He will be back in your life. Good poem

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
