    Like Gum

    It was like gum
Individually sold in a silver shiny wrapper
And had the flavor of some type of
    Tropical Mint

    Fresh
    And flexing
Bending inbetween the roof and the soft pad of my mouth

A burst of something sweet that
Danced inbetween each ball of my taste buds
And tarnished all bad taste i had before i had your flavor

And that taste stayed with me

    But the more I chewed
The design that was branded on the surface of your gum disappared
    Your flexabilty stiffened
And as much as i tried to wrap my tongue around you and blow bubbles
    I couldn't

    So I spit you out
And tried to atleast keep your wrapper
Cause it still had the smell of your flavor

But I couldn't hold that for the rest of my life

    The flavor had died
    Dances around my tongue stopped
And everytime i blew whats left of you out
    Fresh air
And that same old bland taste
    Came back again

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
