    Learning: In my Mother's House

"Don't pick up what you didn't put down", I heard my mama say. In that day I learned that stealing was not the way. I could see she was very angry, as my sister gave a reply- "I found it" "I found it"- I heard her cry! In that day I learned that deception was not the way. "'Don't find what you have't lost",I could clearly hear my mama say. In this house how can you find something that belongs to someone else These words my mother spoke to us that very day and night. It opened doors of sunlight on many deceptive rituals and rights.

Your mom sounded somewhat like mine.

I wrote this poem as a memory of my mom when a friend stole another author work. I see others as family in the same house acording to our gifts. How can we steal from each other? thank you!EstherMaria

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
