    just a chance

A girl cries in the upstairs room.
Away from the rest of the family.
    She cries alone...
to afraid to let someone in.
She doesnt want the attention the other girls want.
So instead of following the crowd she shuts it out.
She keeps all the hurt and abuse locked inside.
brewing an atomic mix that may someday hurt more than just her.
    she sits in her room

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
