    It's True Love

As I walk away I can’t help but think if I’m doing the right thing or not. Start to imagine life without you and all I see is darkness and loneliness. My heart pounds and tells me you’re the one and to just believe, then my head jumps in and says our love is too complicated, we’re better off without each other. Hot tears start rolling down my rosy checks as I realize this is the last time I’ll ever see you, feel you, or even kiss you. I enter a state of panic and my heart breaks into millions of pieces…never realized how important you were to me, and how much I’d miss you if you were ever gone. I start to fall, but before I do, your arms catch me…just like always, you’re there. Now I’m thinking…I belong with you, you are the one and that’s not complicated…it’s true love.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
