IT'S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS
Why is it our business
that someone doesn't fulfill
what others predestine?
Who has the right to judge
others by our standards?
He's a geek.
She's overweight.
He's from the ghetto,
She's illegitimate.
He's a fashion-don't.
She's poor.
He's a virgin.
She's a snob.
He wears glasses.
She's too thin.
His father's white.
Mother's Black.
Her mother's Asian.
Father's Native American.
They're biracial.
They're not dark enough.
They're not light enough.
He doesn't smoke.
She doesn't drink.
He doesn't do drugs.
She doesn't sleep around.
They don't fit in, because they're different.
They're rejected and ostracized
by people who neither know them,
care about their inner selves,
the quality of their lives,
or the state of their morals and values.
If those who judge would examine themselves
they'd have no time to bully or belittle others.
Who are we, and what gives us that right?
Unless it threatens our lives
or the lives of others
it's none of our business.
that someone doesn't fulfill
what others predestine?
Who has the right to judge
others by our standards?
