    Alone he stands
    Unto himself
    Desert dweller he be
    With thirst overwhelming
    Mirages of others tease
    But no one comes
    Nomad of the heart
    Walking this path
    He has chosen
    No name does he remember
All identity lost in the winds
    Do you see pity?
    In mocking laughter he turns
    Hate destroys all
Separates as surely as reality from insanity
    Remember well
    Heed the warning

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
