Poem Commentary

Always remember to pay attention to every thing your female or male friend do before you enter a relationship. If you see something you don't like, address it right away because what you see and get yourself into, is what you get.

Irresponsible

I get upset

Because you make unwise decisions.

No matter how deep of a hole

I’m already in

You make my hole deeper

Without thinking.

Your intentions be good ones

But they would be even better

If it came out of your pockets

And not mine.

I work hard everyday!

At each pay date

I have things that are a priority

To spend MY money on.

But you always beat me to the punch,

Dragging me down further

Than I intended to go.

Now I’m stuck.

“Well I guess I’m going to have to

Pay this bill next time,”

The next pay date

I’m hearing myself repeat the same rhyme.

I try to talk to you

To tell you how I feel

But to you it’s

“I’m sorry baby,

Don’t be mad,”

No big deal!

I try my best to be patient with you,

I try to be understanding

Of your needs too.

But you’re an ALCOHOLIC!]

ADMIT IT!

Your addictions in the way

I have goals and dreams to fulfill,

I CAN NOT, let you stay.

Deep in my heart, I love you

But you refuse to understand my voice

So I put it down in writing for you

WE’RE OVER!

Due to your irresponsible choice.

As if alcohol, ciggarettes and drugs are so much better then bills and priorities. According to men. I bet whoever you wrote this to didn't even read it? Or even mad at you cuz you write? That's what i get all the time. Anyways I didn't realize i read this already. I think it's something most of us go thru.

You commented on a poem of mine awhile ago about Jobs and I am not predjudice! Just truthful and fed- up with how the economy works. I have black friends and my brother and half of my family is mexican. i go by what I've dealt with myself and heard from them. I know it may sound cruel but not when you put yourself in my shoes! This poem is perfect for the relationships I have been in not to mention the drugs they did to and since they took all my money and everything i have worked for and I lost my job where i made most of it now I'm the one poor, broke, homeless and still worthless. Their seems to be no hope for single white females who doesn't drink or smoke, do drugs or have kids. It doesn't matter what i do I NEVER get anywhere! Please, don't hold what I live thru and been thru against me it ain't nothing but the truth!? You wrote this well...

Thank you for commenting back. I appreciate hearing your side of what life is like where you are from. I'm sorry you only get to see a select few of my culture. I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio and down here, women have more to offer for themselves. Atleast I do anyway. I am in a relationship and do hav children (3) but I don't depend on my fiance to make my life for me. You have to set your goals than go for it. Good luck. And keep in touch.

Thanks for checking it out

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
