Integrity
and before I walked in the store
and after I walked out of the store
he sought to victimize my caring nature
“Say young blood, do you have some change?”
With heartfelt conviction I replied,
“Not for you, as you can only change yourself
but for your benefit
I will change the way I look down upon you
I won’t throw loose change in your direction
as if to display your lack of dignity
you showed that by asking
yet you ask everyone that walked out the store
before they walk in
you stand stationary for assault on their sympathy
hitting them with the same sad pathetic story
I want to buy my kids bread, I need to get home,
I haven’t eaten in so long can you help me out.
but its really just so you can get you a taste.
mouth now rotted out by the flavor of hand me downs
pan handling is your skill
sitting on the ground begging for a handout
when you should ask for a hand up
and before I walked in the store
and after I walked out of the store
he sought to victimize my caring nature
as he says, “say young blood, do you have some change?”
With heartfelt conviction I replied,
“Not for you, I have nieces and cousins
too young to understand how money
complicates the value of giving
so I’d rather give it to them”.
and after I walked out of the store
he sought to victimize my caring nature
“Say young blood, do you have some change?”
With heartfelt conviction I replied,
“Not for you, as you can only change yourself
