    In Vain

    i seek what i can’t have
    what shan’t be mine,
    ravenous and murderous
    for true love divine!
    seemed a far memory
    glimpses of the past
    HE and I once had
    true love to last????????
    the swirling and hurling,
    romance calling me, thus
    deeply, deeply falling……..
    was it love, ALAS!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
