    In Time

    The world was timeless
a disaray of feelings, and thoughts, and confusion,
    trying to understand the mad,
I was trapped between the hands of time,
It all seemed to blend together
    in one endless torment
    that seemed never to cease,
    Reality was lost in time.

    I felt amazed disgust
    as my eyes opened
    but could not comprehend,
staring into the face of time,
    expressionless and still,
    I was encaged
in a confusing little dream world
    where time stood motionless
    and pain never stopped,
    Reality was lost in time.

I desperately searched for some escape
    I tried to scream
but only silence cried for help,
    black infinity surrounded me,
    suspended in time
    I could not breath,
The clock tolled my hour of death,
    Reality was lost in time.

    My unvoiced cries screamed out,
    a silent whisper
    in my final breath
    the cold clock watched me
    denying the time to pass.
Unseeing, it could not see a thing
    Unhearing, it heard nothing
As my eyes began to close for the last time
life breathed it's breath of time
a saving grace pressed time to move,
Christ saved my life, in time

Thanks StandingBear, I appreciate the comment

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
