    In This Unfortunate Ending

In my world, there's only you,
My hopes and dreams have all come true.
But something is wrong, it just couldn't be right,
I'm right here, standing in front of you tonight.
You don't see me do you? Standing here,
My hopes and dreams lying there?
You stare right through me, what a horrible feeling,
But with your touch, it seems so healing.
    I'm confused but I'm okay,
Let's go to these meetings, just for today.
Perhaps they will help us forget,
Perhaps they will help us not to regret.
The pain inside is almost to intense,
This pain in my eyes I know you can sense.
    Your words have become hollow,
    Your thoughts have turned shallow.
What more can I do for you to see,
How much you mean to me.
In the end, my heart beats for you no longer,
In the end, I know you have just made me stronger.

An addiction is what I sense it's about. So many of your poems come across very spiritual to me, but this one got me at the last couple lines.

I have been in this situation. I've told my ex so many times that I could be standing in his face jumping up and down. doing everything right. looking sexy, cook food, run his bath, iron his clothes, speak into his life and yet he'll look right through me as if I'm not even there. God that was so drainful. I agree with you though every relationship that goes wrong builds your character and you become stronger. such strength that you tend to curse it because you wished you would've had it when yo

I absolutely love this poem. Sometimes the love you get is not what you wanted, not given back, misunderstood and you get left alone and broken hearted. The important thing is for your lessons you learn and the strength you grow from your pain. I too put my heartache into poems, it helps cleanse me in some way, so my heart can vent out some of my wound for that moment in time and may lay idle without weeping.

love can be cruel sometimes. keep your chin up and never waiver in your decisions.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
