In the Moments
This is needed, that is wanted
Time is wasting, age is flaunting
She don't listen, he don't care
No ones paying attention.
Screams flare through the cell phones
Tantrums thrown in the kitchen
What consequences?
Their lives are convenient
Micro wave, stove, Frigidaire, faucets
All runs fluently quenching every thirst.
Un-comfort is being pacified
Like lazy parents
Force feeding satisfaction
Elimination companionship
Introductions will be needed
If attendance continue like this
Here’s a fraction in your measurements
Gun shot, blown tire, screeching car, semi truck
All ending in a collapse of time
Now
Home is needed, love is wanted, time is all I have
She listens, he cares, everyone's paying attention
Cries of worries flare thru the cell phones
To families as the kettle on the stove screams completion
For alertness to be poured in the cups of patients
Waiting to be notified of survival
A schedule for pick up arrivals
Convenience morphs from necessity to luxury
An antique that can no longer be afforded
Family is more important
Forever only last 24 hours until hands pile on twelve
The morning session
Tragedy has a gift of offering a lesson in life
And a fault in becoming a life long lesson
