In Flames

In Flames

Sink the poison in,  feels fine
Thoughts go rushing through my mind
None of the worries of mankind
Are Mine

Here from where I stand, I see
Me and all my past glory
Sweeping my  life out to sea
Can't Breathe

I can't see tomorrow now
For the sunlight's crashing down
Only darkness to be found
I'm Blind

Shadows scream and mock my name
Even silence cannot tame
Only have myself to blame
Free Me

As the world goes racing by
No one stops to hear my cries
You were there, you watched me die
In Flames

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
