Damaged

Damaged, broken, beaten down
With nothing left to give
All events of the past
Have seized my will to live
Cleansing, curse'd, cloaking rain
Conceals all trace of tears
But pretense will never cure
The pain from all these years
Splintered, ripped, shattered dreams
Is all that's left within
Inwardly, I am dying
A shadow, worn and thin
Constant, conscience, morose thoughts
A consuming fire
Of all seven life has thrown
Dead struck by the ire

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
