If There’s an If - Then Why is Why

If There’s an If - Then Why is Why

If there’s an if, then why is why
Turning back the pages,
Won’t change yesterday’s ruins of old.
They just crumble with age.

Tomorrow never arrives,
‘cept in the eyes of a child.
Whose heroes are larger than life,
Stars, presidents, mommy and dad.

Innocence in a sense,
Is a luxury for the young,
Whose songs are unsung,
Until they realize love’s a reason,
To fantasize.

Daydreaming about sweet romance,
They’ll never even have a chance,
If things don’t change,
Even Donald Duck won’t be the same.
