I'd Rather be at my Beach House

I’d rather be at my beach house
    Somewhere far from the city
Hearing the roosters crow in the morning
The hills would be so pretty

I’d sit on my wooden porch
Drinking fruit punch from a can
Watching you walk up the dirt road
    Bringing flowers in your hand

I’d be wearing my long, white dress
    My hair in a ponytail
You’d be wearing blue jeans and a sleeveless,
Around your neck, a thin gold chain

    You’d tiptoe up behind me
I’d pretend to not know you’re there
And you’d hug me oh so gently,
Then stick a flower in my hair

You’d lift me off the ground
    And spin me right around
And that is when we’d kiss,
    Oh, I’m really liking this

We’d have breadfruit and fish for breakfast
Then go swimming for a while
    Splashing water on each other,
    Acting oh so juvenile

We’d race each other to the house
    And probably take a nap
But knowing me when you’re around,
We’d probably have no time for that

I’d rather be at our beach house
    Lying in bed with you
And as long as you’re beside me
There’s nothing else I’d rather do
