i prayed you come my way

i prayed you come my way

you are fairy, with eyes large and daring,
i prayed you come my way, so my life would not be swayed,
to the heavens i cried, so the heating emptiness in me would not make me fried,
the courage i took to tell the Lord i am wasting, made me know at last my life would not just fade like an old painting,

oh, i prayed you come my way, so my life would not be a sway,
how i knew you would be mine, is that you smiled and said i return at nine,
your eyes where so large and shiny, that i said oh Lord give me her even a tiny,

the time we have spent together looks like a twinkle,
but when i look at you i see on your face a very old woman's wrinkles ( 80 years later )

how i love you so straight as the sun's ray,
that i remember i prayed you come my way.

i love you beryl
