    I love you like......

I love you like a kid who loves his girl,
Until she moves away and he’s lost in his world,
I love you like a bride who loves a dove,
Until someone shoots it from the sky above,
I love you like a farmer who loves the rain,
Until he’s stuck in a flood in the middle of a hurricane,
I love you like a man who loves to jog just for fun,
Until he’s being chased by someone with a gun,
I love you like a cop who loves his gun,
Until he kills someone and realizes what he’s done,
I love you like a fat kid who loves cake,
Until he dies because he’s so overweight,
I love you like a feign loves yay,
Until he’s in pain because he didn’t score today,
I love you like a soldier who loves his country,
Until an I.E.D. hits his convoy and he can’t see,
I love you like a man who loves to race his car his car,
Until he dies from driving drunk from a bar,
If love causes pain, and to have pain means I’m weak,
I don’t care as long as I can love til the last word that I speak.

taht's funny! Sorry not an emotinal person and i think love is fake! So many people use it in the wrong ways and it turns into a neverending lie... Funny and Good!

that was sweet. and I like the part about the fat kid who loves cake.i always forget the difference between metaphor and simile but it's one of those. This was a really good poem.

the struggle between love and pain is clearly expressed, but love wins out in the end, well written

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
