I could have stayed...
Then I wouldn't be missing you now.
So much we could have shared...
All is but broken dreams.
I could have stayed...
I love you enough to have lasted forever.
We tried, but our promises weren't enough.
Love does NOT conquer all.
I could have stayed...
Hoping your love for me outweighed the anger.
But while that love bruised my heart and soul,
So did your anger bruise my body.
I could have stayed...
I chose to leave you alone...
Away from you, I left.
Rather than hate you when we were together....
I couldn't stay.
