HALF AND HALF

HALF AND HALF

I'm missing a half of me
Could you my other half be?
Searching the world for my half
I finally had enough

What if I never find
The idol I had in mind?
I want what belongs to me-
I'll make you my half to be

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
