Poem Commentary

The Guy I Love Is 4 Years Older Then Me. We've Been Together For A Long Time, And He Wants To Spend The Rest Of His Life With Me. He Knows He's My World, And I'd Do Anything for him, But He Is Going Off To College. This Summer Was Supposed To Be Ours, But He Has Alot Of Priorities, And Money To Be Made. So I Don't See Him Everyday, And That Hurts; But Its A Fact Of Life, And I'm Okay With That; I Think.

Growing Up

This Growing Up Thing, It's Really Not That Easy.
Learning From Your Mistakes, Really Isn't Pleasing.
Fall in Love, or Falling in Hate, Is What You Day Consists Of.
At Times I Get So Scared, At Times I Feel Alone.
Nobody There To Hold Me, No Where To Call My Home.
Your Busy With Your Things To Do, Four Steps Ahead of Mine.
You Call Me Immature, But I'm Walking On A Thin Line.
You Show Me Right From Wrong, I Try My Best To Learn.
But Maybe I'm Right Sometimes, So Let Me Have My Turn.
Don't Be Upset With Me, Or Correct Me All The Time.
It's My Life To Figure Out, Let Me Have My Time To Shine.
I Love You More Than Words Can Say, I Really Do My Dear.
But All These Things Coming Our Way, Fill Me With Such Fear.
I'm Afraid Of What The Future Holds, Or Just What It Might Bring.
I Write My Fears In These Poems, These Feelings My Heart Sings.
Hold My Hand And Hold My Heart, Kiss My Cheek So Gently.

I'm Sorry For The Wrong I've Done, I'm Sorry That I Lied.
I'm Sorry For The Pain I've Caused, The Words I Kept Inside.
I'm Sorry For My Childish Ways, I'm Sorry I Can't Help It.

I Love You Darling, With All My Heart.
The Feelings In My Soul, Are What Will Never Part.

"I don't want to grow up ... I'm a toy's are us kid." That's what came to mind. It looks like your letting your words flow and that is a good thing. I see the angst in your poem which is what we feel sometimes about growing up. I agree with Tiffinny that your coming along fine with your writing. I have a 14 y.o. grand daughter I bought the book "Seize the Story" which I read and it goes from start to finish creating a story.. If you can check out at one of the book stores.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
