Greed
So much competition, we sit and ponder,
We reach for the ring, but our wants tend to wander,
Then how to make real, this treasure of mind,
Hopes dashed, plans smashed,
So close but with so little time,
The world at your fingers, you hide behind fear,
A slow word has found you and others draw near,
The beloved has fallen, his quest unresolved,
Mother’s dreams, children’s screams,
All but screech to a halt,
What justice would claim the benevolent heart,
Who’s love for the world that’s so pure should depart,
Your Husband, or Wife, or your Partner,
Your Savior, a Saint, or a Martyr,
To die for the life of another,
So while we sit and pray for our dreams to come true,
Please don’t forget to give love to the ones that love you,
A Teacher, a Preacher, a Mentor and Friend,
Your Son, Daughter, Mother and Father,
Who will be there in the end,
