    Goodnight From Where I Am

    Goodnight From Where I Am

You warm my nights to say the least,
    I’m honored you were mine
To be your mom and share the time,
    this lifetime did allow
I didn’t learn till you were gone,
the roll you chose for me
Looking from where I’m standing now,
there is so much I didn’t see
This time I planned just for you,
    so listen carefully
    I never really understood
    why you amazed me so,
was it in your eyes or in your smile
    that always captured me
Your handsome face, and gentle kiss
    when you would say goodnight
    Son, you loved everyone
    your spirit was so kind
So, if you can see and hear me now,
    please give me a sign,
and know we will be together again,
    When it is my time
    Dedicated to my son Tommy
