Goddess Grace

In the darkness of this hour
I summon thee with all my power
Come to me and settle here
Unto me, wipe away my fear
Laughter's gone, bring back my smile
Erase my pain, if only awhile
Chase away all these tears
Bring me back to my happy years
Your light shine upon my face
Help bring your child back to grace

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
