God’s love for me
When I was a child, he loved me,
Out of so many people he called me “His son”,
He wiped every tear from my eyes,
He fed me when I was hungry
and gave me water when I was thirsty.
But the more he called me,
the further I went away from Him,
I went far away,
Just like the wandering sheep.
God’s heart was changed within Him,
“How can I give you up?”
Day and night He sought a way
to bring me back.
In his love for me,
He sent his son,
His only son to die in my place,
Since I was already condemned.
He was beaten,
He was cursed,
He was stabbed,
He was nailed to the cross,
Many cruel things was done to Him,
Yet He endured all because of me,
He wanted me back
from where I’ve strayed from.
God’s love for me is immeasurable,
His love for me is unthinkable,
His love is beyond words can express,
His love for me is everlasting,
Oh! He loves me!
Though I was like the wandering sheep
that did not love the fold.
But yet he did all these things for me,
God loves me!
