Forever Changed By the Fire
I complained about work.
Too much to be done.
The deadlines are difficult,
Paperwork by the ton.
I complained and I vented,
about my career.
Until I finally realized,
I’m blessed to be here.
People losing their jobs,
Their bills are past due.
I ‘m blessed, and I know it.
I take a new view.
People complain
About people in their life
But they'll regret it when...
Death takes a husband or wife
They waste time that’s precious.
Their chance will pass by.
Time with their loved ones.
Gone in the blink of an eye.
I hear people fussing,
It makes me upset.
For they do not realize,
How painful it will get.
Regrets, they will have them.
They’ll cry and they’ll pray.
They’ll miss their loved one
They’ll want one more day.
These things I have learned
Since the death of my love.
To appreciate what I have,
And thank God up above.
My priorities are different;
My loss has changed me.
I won't waste time whining.
I have been set free.
I used to complain
About life’s daily stress.
I now know the truth,
And complain so much less.
Once you have gone through
Life’s fire blazing hot.
Life’s little daily sunburns,
Will bother you not.
Life’s fires are painful,
And hard to walk through.
But the fire will change you
And make you brand new.
Now and forever,
You won't be the same.
God stayed with you in the fire,
And brought you through the flame.
Too much to be done.
The deadlines are difficult,
Paperwork by the ton.
I complained and I vented,
about my career.
Until I finally realized,
I’m blessed to be here.
