    Poem Commentary

I scribbled this down on a piece of paper The day of the funeral of one of my close friends that I loved very much,You never think everyday could be the last for anyone and when it happens the world looks so dark, its like reality steps in and slaps you, reminds you of how precious every moment is with the people you really care about.Life is to short

    for craig

Sorrow and grief has flooded my heart
Trying to find peace in this cold reality seems so hard
The truth in my heart knows
    why these things happen
but my mind and emotions cant seem to grasp them
Memories keep coming, bringing hot tears and sighing
Regrets of lost time and lost words underlying
So many chances to say that I love you
Now...no more chances all I can do is miss you
The next time I see you.....
there will be no more tears
No memories of how we were
    the years you were here
    Only love and rejoycing
    laughter and peace
    No more loss
    only increase
So I will cry for you now
And miss your presence on this earth
    until I see you again
I will love you beyond all measure

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
