    fall

Lost in the lonely promise of forever hinted in a somber embrace, eyes closed falling backward knowing you'll be there to catch me, arms opened as if you knew I would fall. You knew I would fall... for you, for this, for everything you promised in your eyes when you told me I was beautiful. Falling gracefully carefree and without doubt in you, your hands, your kiss, your smile.  Where are you?  You knew I'd fall.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
