EX-BOYFRIENDS
It is hard to throw away old sneakers,
They're unpleasant, yet comfortable,
and seem to fit so well.
The threads are pulling apart,
both soles are worn,
and tying the strings is useless.
So-
You pass them on to the dogs
or use them for dirty work-
(you know mowing the lawn
or pushing down overflowing trash).
New shoes fit so well to begin,
but memories of the old
never ends.
Once scarred
you can’t,
take them back.
So-
Keep the new ones
they’ll get old, damn!
Pulled out strings, worn down soles.
They're unpleasant, yet comfortable,
and seem to fit so well.
The threads are pulling apart,
both soles are worn,
and tying the strings is useless.
So-
You pass them on to the dogs
or use them for dirty work-
(you know mowing the lawn
or pushing down overflowing trash).
New shoes fit so well to begin,
but memories of the old
never ends.
Once scarred
you can’t,
take them back.
So-
Keep the new ones
they’ll get old, damn!
Pulled out strings, worn down soles.
