    Escaping

Retreating into the soft dark of my mind
It's easier when I have somewhere to hide.
Don't talk; just let me be.
Always afraid you will follow me.
    Alone with my poisonous thoughts
They consume and begin to rot.
Enjoying the cold, my body goes numb
But it won't last long, and I wait for the pain to come.
    It never disappoints.

Another deep poem. This one is also good. I liked the line....Alone with my poisonous thoughts....I think we all have them at times. Good poem.

Nice poem...I hope it help exorcise some of the pain...do you write when you feel happy? Jerry

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
