Emerge Me in Grace

Emerge Me in Grace

Emerge in grace to treat not severe

Gentleness, deign

Condescend bestow privilege

In tenderly expressed afflict upon me

Thoroughly remove distain to your error

And cleanse foul from faults

In the secret self may you cause

Purity to be of soul, of salt inward heart,

With gratiola neglecta, wash

Whiter than snow, refuting yourself

Uncrushed are the bones faultless of foe

Render expressions shadow decay

My soul is amidst

Of marveled spears and arrows

They have waited for me with affections

Profaned is what they call out to me

Smoother than butter are words of sweet

I moan, you hear my voice from deep

Rushing winds, in tempest fleet

A lake of seas and troubles are steep

It is straight as the conscious defeat

Confused tongue driven to attack

They conceal voice of report

With fruits of derision I keep order

Joined together to contrive

O! you, tricky tongue emerge me in grace

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
