    Desire!

    DESIRE!

What house this is I do not know

It is a house familiar though

They all will see me stopping here

    For yearnings deep persistent fear

She watched me watch from her window seat

But thought it queer of what I seek

My eyes met hers and hers met mine

With glance and blinks we parted prides

She looked away until she saw

I stopped and turned my head with draw

To watch the house of simple revere

The street, the grass, the gate, my fear

Behind the door lurks bitter foe

The porch lumens stains of tears before

The night that crushed my heart abash

He threw me out in shock I crashed

She held her breath that I would not go

In tears I looked and cravings glow

The touch, the smell is now on fire

In tempest rage remains love’s desire

She grapples aghast her mind’s been a clear

What will become of you my dear?

Her heart that beats, her eyes no blinks

I cannot watch this sad defeat

With tensions rose I breathe with breath

Calm tremblings inside no fear of death

    Unworthy sense of hungered need

Beyond my reach wistful longings heed

I pass the house tears fall from my face

She closed her eyes then shakes her head

A prayer she vows as I walk ahead

What house this is I do not know

It is a house familiar though

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
