Edge of Promises

Edge of Promises

Suddenly walking out the door without giving a reason
Time to move on; blindsided by this final love's treason.

You said we would be the best and time will give witness to your pledge
A life together without the hurts; who would have known the razor's edge.

I'm getting on with life but need to check the bottom of my shoe
Because garbage man ... I fell in love and I stepped in it too!

A great title to an all to familiar event that happens all too often, to many good people ... been there - done that. Be well k

You captured how it feels to have promises of love and fidelity broken. Great write........E

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
