Don't give a cowboy your heart

    It’s happened again
Only this time I don’t blame you
I don’t know what it is
    It’s something that you do

    I’ve told myself many times
    That I should hate you
    But like I said
    It’s something you do

Is it the way that you write?
    The way that you smile?
    The way you stop talking
    To me for a while

    I should have listened
    To what they said
    “That guys trouble,
    Get it through your head”

    But you clearly warned me
    Right from the start
    You shouldn’t ever
    Give a cowboy your heart

Is it the way that you talk?
    The way that you smile?
    The way you stop talking
    To me for a while…

Reason being overruled by the irregular, adventurous and risk-taking ways of the Cow boy as an Imagery is good. Nice poem.

cowboys are a fading breed. good people, best friends, but never tie one down.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
