Dominoes
The dominoes were up,Laid out for miles.
This one chose to cross my path-
I resolved to kick it.
And it fell-
As did the next one,
And the next one,
And the next one.
Miles away, they still fall,
And all shatter upon impact-
Oh, woe!
Dominoes
The dominoes were up,The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
